The Women’s Commission (WoC) is organising a conference entitled “Unleashing Women’s Potential for All-Round Development” on 21 February 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The objectives of the Conference are to provide a platform for participants to discuss and exchange views on issues related to the development of women. The Conference consists of two parts and is now open for registration.

Ms Ada HO
Founder and CEO
Ms Ada HO is currently Founder and CEO of internet startup, Paxxioneer, that connects travelers with passionate local individuals to enrich their journey. She has also been co-founding director of L plus H Fashion, a social enterprise established in 2009 to create job opportunities for under-served people while incubating a new generation of fashion designers, technicians, garment workers and entrepreneurs for Hong Kong.
In 2013, Ho co-founded L plus H Creations Foundation that uses professional theatrical performances (musicals, drama, filming) to strengthen underprivileged teenagers’ self-confidence, discipline, motivation and team spirit. The performing art training is integrated with positive values and character education. She is also Producer for full-length musicals “The Awakening” in 2013 and “Against the Wind” in 2014”, and recently documentary film “My Voice, My Life.”
Ho is also Honorary Assistant Professor of the Hong Kong University, teaching “Theories and Practice of Social Leadership.” She is currently a weekly columnist at Ming Pao, and used to write for Hong Kong Economic Journal and Hong Kong Economic Times. She has published four books about leadership and management.
Ho previously worked in the business sector in strategic planning, management consulting, and currency derivatives trading at various international corporations. In response to the 8.0-magnitude earthquake of Sichuan in May 2008, Ada founded the Hong Kong Special Music Squad that provided music and play therapy to almost 20,000 victims within a month. In recognition of her social innovation in Sichuan, she was honored with the “Humanitarian Award” in 2008 by the Women’s International Film and Television Showcase in Los Angeles.
Ho holds a Master in Public Policy degree at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree at Georgetown

Mr Francis Ngai is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk), a venture philanthropic organization focused on inventing, incubating and investing in social start-ups that address urban challenges through sustainable and innovative business solutions, and inspiring a culture of social innovation in Hong Kong
Prior to establishing SVhk, Ngai was the Head of Strategy in a listed technology conglomerate in Hong Kong. He graduated from the City University of Hong Kong and was conferred as an Honorary Fellow by the University in 2013. He was selected as one of the 100 Asia Pioneers by The Purpose Economy in 2014, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2012 and one of Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2011.
Ms Doris LEUNG Shuk Yi

Doris LEUNG is the Founder and CEO of Diamond Cab and Director of Social Innovation at Social Ventures Hong Kong. She is a journalist turned social entrepreneur, with 16 years of past experience working with i-Cable as a TV host and reporter. Having experienced difficulties travelling with her wheelchair-bound mother, Leung was determined to set up her own social enterprise – Diamond Cab, introducing 5 wheelchair-accessible taxis to Hong Kong in 2011. Diamond Cab was established with a social mission to provide much-needed, quality point-to-point transport to the disabled, elderly and able-bodied, and has a team of 20 dedicated drivers with a caring heart to promote wellbeing of the wheelchair-bound.
Leung was awarded the Young Social Entrepreneur Award 2011, Capital Leaders of Excellence 2011, Finalist (Asia Pacific) of Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards 2013, The Purpose Economy Asia 100 2014, Hong Kong Winner of Chivas The Venture 2015 and JESSICA Most Successful Women 2015.
